Food for thought

I have decided to write about food with some prompting from my trusty friend Amanda. Why? Because I love food and if you could see me now you would realise it yourself. I love cooking, expecially for friends and family. I was taught by the best cook in town (my mum) and have been cooking since I was was little. I would come home and find a note on the kitchen table from mum who would be busy on the farm till late. She would let me know what to start on. Helping nonna roll out the gnocci or dry out the pasta was another great start. I also enjoy going out for dinner especially on holidays of course so I guess my blog will be my experience in the kitchen (good and bad), great restaurants and foodie books and mags to read. Here is my first disaster I will willingly share: I totally admit I am terrible at cakes...terrible. You would think a packet cake would be a sinch..nope. It was all going well until I thought I should tap the bubbles out of the batter in the cake tin....I have seen pancakes rise higher than that cake!!
